To eliminate health variations and much better understand aging processes in ethnically varied populations, effective strategies for increasing participation of minority populations in health research study are required. To create a reliable technique that will motivate older adults to offer for research, especially those from disparity populations, requires understanding determinants of successful recruitment and developing ingenious techniques to address recognized barriers to recruitment. We provide two kinds of resources on this subject.

CADC professors and scholars have advanced recruitment methods in several ways through our projects hiring patients from health care settings and recruiting individuals from communities. We summarize our publications on the following elements of recruitment of varied older adults and other health variations populations.

   One innovative recruitment technique is the creation of health windows registries. (Drs. Celia Kaplan, Tung Nguyen, and Leah Karliner) evaluated six publications by systematically reporting methodological elements of establishing and executing health computer registries targeting older adults. The kinds of computer registries consist of use of social media, and neighborhood companies.
